Just waiting....

Hi Everyone, A few friends have mentioned "Where's the latest baby update?" and all I can say is that we don't have any major news right now. I have a doctors appt. on Tuesday morning, and hopefully I'll have some great new progress to share. But as of right now-we are just waiting and constantly saying to each other "Do you think today's the day???" Matt and I are getting so anxious. We know two other couples who are due within a day of Jack and one (my friend Jennifer Epstein) had her beautiful baby girl Brenna on Friday. Now its just Jack and Baby Cameron, Ashley and Joey Patterson's baby girl that are left! My Mom and sister Lisa (who will be in Stuart helping my Mom move) are going to drive up to Jacksonville on the 8th or 9th. They plan on coming up baby or no baby because Lisa is flying back to Chicago out of Jacksonville. However, if I go into labor before then, my Mom will try to drive up to be here despite the fact she's trying to move her entire house with a week and a half left until the closing! So we are definitely a busy little family right now. And Matt's family will start to be in Jacksonville more often because Jaguar football season is about to officially start. They are HUGE fans and are so dedicated that they drive down from Charlotte, NC for almost every home game! The first home game is the September 14th! It's really great having them around so much during season. The past few years I've usually been at most games with Matt and his parents, but this year is going to be a little different. Jack won't be quite ready for the real deal, he'll have to experience Jags football from his couch with his Daddy. I hope everything is going well with all of you. And just so you know-if you have something you want to say or just share you can post without having a google account by "posting anonymously" and just sign your name at the end of your message so we know who you are!! Just thought I'd mention because a few people have told me they would like to comment but don't have an account-so there ya go!!!
LOVE TO YOU ALL!

We're getting close!

Matt and I met with Dr. Wells this morning and he gave us the great news that I am 1 1/2 centimeters dilated and 60% effaced. I was thrilled to hear that because that means we are making progress and things are moving along towards the big day. Which honestly could be any day!!! We also asked him about a rythmic movement that we felt over the weekend. Turns out, Jack had the hiccups. Dr. Wells said that the hiccups in utero are a great, healthy sign. I know it's getting close, but hearing him refresh my memory on when to call or when to go to the hospital mad it all the more real. I'll keep you posted and put some more pictures up of his nursery. For now, here are two belly pictures. Hope all is well with everyone.

All our love,

WHO KNEW????

I'm posting this blog entry in complete shock. I had NO idea my husband was an amazing artist!!! I knew he could fix or build anything because of the work I've seen him do around our house. And I knew he was talented when it came to his career at a general contractors because his job can be very tedious and require a lot of detailed work which he's been successful at. So when my Mom and I started brain storming about something for the biggest wall in the nursery, we discussed a mural. This afternoon Matt was online searching for images of a star fish, sailboat, or anything nautical or from the ocean. He came across some sailboat images and next thing I know he was in the nursery sketching (free-hand) a huge sailboat above the couch. I kept popping in and out to see how it was going, and I couldn't believe my eyes! Next he asked where my paints were and before I knew it, he had nearly completed the entire project in less than 2 hours. I've known Matt for 3 1/2 years and have never seen any evidence of this amazing talent. He always surprises me with what he can do! I LOVE that he contributed this gorgeous artwork to our son's room.

Baby Jack update

Hi All,

I haven't had any interesting new baby info until today! I had a doctors appointment this morning and Dr. Browning informed me that his head is still down, right where is supposed to be. And that I'm 1 centimeter dilated!! Which is great news because the more I dilate now the less work your body has to do while in labor. From now on I have appointments once a week! Which I love because there is nothing like starting your day hearing your babies heart beat!!! For some reason I was so overwhelmed today with excitement of his impending arrival. Up until this point it's seemed like we had so much more time until we met him and now with only 5 weeks left..I'm so anxious for him to be here and in our arms! Please continue to pray for us and him as we get closer to delivery.
Below is a picture of baby Jack's bassinet. My dear friend Ragda who has four boys has allowed me to borrow a ton of her stuff, from maternity clothing to onesies for Jack and now her beautiful bassinet that all four of her boys (who I nannied for) slept in! There will be pics of him in there in no time!!
Love to you all,
Claire
